Hurricane Katrina Update:
November 9, 2005

"We are back! Although our former location at 540 N. Cortez St. in New Orleans was a total loss due to the flooding, thanks to the support of our employees, vendors and customers, we have been able to re-open a few miles away in an area which did not experience flooding. We are rebuilding our stock every day and expect to back to pre-Katrina levels in a few weeks.

Our new location is 5133 River Road, Harahan, Louisiana. Our new phone number is 504-733-3790 for sales and service. Our FAX is 504-733-3793. Our office hours are 8:30 to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Please call Lisa or Kenneth with your orders.

Thank you for your interest in Lotz Culinary Equipment and Supplies  We are primarily a restaurant supply wholesale distributor serving the Greater New Orleans area since 1906.  We sell a wide range of products for restaurants and kitchens including equipment, refrigeration, cookware, and furniture.  We service restaurants, hotels, churches, schools, casinos, bars, hospitals, offshore suppliers, and more.  Retail walk-in customers are welcome, too.

Lotz established the business in 1906 with a location in the historic French Quarter of New Orleans.  In 1970 we relocated our operations to the present location at 5133 River Road in Mid City New Orleans.

Upon Mr. Lotz's passing in 1975 the business was taken over by his son-in-law, Lewis Ramel Sr., who at 91 still remains active in the company.  Mr. Ramel's sons-in-law, Paul Varisco and David DeMonte, have owned the company since 1996 and run the day to day operations.  Lewis Ramel Jr. and Michel Varisco are also involved in the company.  Michel, Paul's daughter, represents the fourth generation of family to work here.

We are proud of our wide customer base which includes some of New Orleans ' finest chefs, restaurants, and hotels.  Being a true family owned and operated business, we make sure that our customers get the attention to detail, professionalism, and outstanding customer service that is attached to the Lotz Culinary Equipment and Supplies name.
